Winter Break Work - Player Outfit Concepts

For our game we planned to make the player character be customisable, so here are some of my ideas:

This could be the default/ starter outfit, one of the ideas our group had was that they could be a scientist sent down to investigate earth, several hundred years post climate change disaster, so a lab coat could be cool.

Leaving this here for Toolkit 2 purposes, I'm really enjoying drawing in the ribcage. These were practice sketches and/or bases to draw some of the outfits on top of - the one in the top left is too much of a hero pose with the chest puffed out and doesn't suit the tone of the game, so I changed the posture to make them look more neutral or uncertain, preparing to explore an unrecognisable world.

I made a moodboard that consists (mostly) of a bunch of people I follow to get a range of different faces, I wanted to sketch a wide variety of different looking people to showcase how far you could customise your character. Below I included some outfit sketches to fill space, I didn't want to include everything as their own seperate images because I think it'll end up making the posts longer than they have to be.

For the last few concepts, I wrote a list of a whole load of clothing items and accessories, then rolled a D20 a bunch of times to get random outfits. Players usually try to abuse character creators and make something... very unique, so i've tried to replicate that here. I randomised the colours too, then added an overlay to unify the colour schemes a bit. In hindsight, maybe I should've left them in all their mismatched glory, or I could've chosen worse colour schemes on purpose as some of these aren't too bad.

This one in the blue coat might do well as a stand alone character design - it could fit quite nicely with the plastic designs we already have with its bright colours and big abstract shapes, especially the variant with the huge puffy jacket. To be honest, the weirdness and randomness of these three designs all lend themselves quite well to the strange, abstract futuristic vibe we planned for the plastic tribe initially.

You might recognise the sort of fabric gloves and boots from one of the ant colony designs here - I thought it would be fun to include accessories from the various factions in the game for the player character to wear, it could've also been for story reasons (e.g. wearing an ant colony disguise so you can freely roam in the underground).
