Building Alliances - Final Character Sheets
I've added a couple of finishing touches to the main two character sheets, and coloured in the enemy designs. Here they are:
Given more time I wouldv'e added a boarder and drop shadows/ etc to the hostile creatures sheet as well, but this is complete enough. The smeared dark splotches in the background were inspired by the Zelda BOTW (Nintendo 2018) concept art, as they have a similar sort of scribble behind their character art. The Zelda one is much more erratic and expressive, going in multiple different directions and adding character to the background:
I added mine to make a similar effect, trying to not copy it directly. I copy and pasted them at different opacities rather than painting several strokes in a few different shades, giving a similar effect but not evoking the same feeling. The purpose of these character sheets is to give all the necessary information to whoever's next in the production pipeline - either 2D or 3D character artists, animators, etc, so these finishing touches aren't completely needed. I added them anyways though, as without it, it looked a bit incomplete, the drop shadows and big dark patches break up the solid plain background and guide the viewer's eye around the page. I also think the dark splotches add a bit of an ominous or even sinister feeling to it, a slight air of mystery that tells the hypothetical character artist there's something off about these characters.
